Evaluation of the Artefact

Reflection on meeting the brief

Students should evaluate their final artefact in relation to the context and requirements of the brief. They should examine each of the requirements they have undertaken and explain how their artefact fulfils these requirements. If a requirement or an element of the task is not fully achieved, students should explain the reasons why it was not achieved. Students should evaluate the final artefact in relation to the needs of the end users they have identified for their product.

How well have you achieved your design ambitions

The degree to which you met the requirements of the brief

  1. The chosen data set must be prepared, cleaned and stored in a suitable file system or databas
  2. A program should analyse and interpret the data from the file system
  3. There should be appropriate graphs or visualisations displayed for the end user
  4. The end user should be able to interact with the program
  5. An interactive website that displays the graphs or visualisations
  6. The website should display data that is stored and retrieved from a database
  7. The interactive website demonstrates principles of good user-centered design

The degree to which your artefact/s does not meet the requirements of the brief

Focus on improvements that could be made and what you would add in future iterations.

How well the needs of the enviaged end users were met

Unexpected results encountered in the application of your artefact

Actual data or feedback would be nice here - but it would be a cherry on top rather than core.
